I am a journalist and media researcher with professional experience in news reporting, digital storytelling, and media production.

I currently work as an editor and reporter at Southern Metropolis Daily, where I have worked across journalism, documentary projects, and AI-assisted media production.

My research focuses on AI, journalism, computational communication, and media memory—how emerging technologies reshape media production, information flows, and our understanding of reality.

Reconfiguring News Agenda Networks in the Age of Generative AI

A Comparative Analysis of AI-Generated and Human Journalism in Olympic Coverage

Examines how generative AI reshapes news agenda construction through Network Agenda Setting Theory. Using paired corpora of human and AI-generated news from People’s Daily and BBC coverage of the Tokyo Olympics, the study combines Python-based text analysis, quantitative content analysis, and statistical tests. Findings reveal cognitive compression and reduced diversity in AI-generated journalism—“structural decentering.” Manuscript under peer review at Convergence.

Drawing on Walter Benjamin’s concept of the flâneur, examines urban wandering, media consumption, and spatial experience in Liu Yichang’s novel Intersection. Explores how urbanization, consumer culture, and demographic change shaped identity and experiences of modernity in 1970s Hong Kong.

The Anti-Japanese War in Southern China

A special reporting series commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. I participated in story planning, field interviews, historical research, writing, and content production, focusing on historical sites and figures in Guangdong. Combining qualitative interviews with archival research, the project explored how local history and historical memory can be transformed into engaging journalistic narratives. Selected stories each received more than 100,000 reads.

A documentary project exploring archaeological discoveries and the origins of Lingnan civilization. I participated in story planning, field interviews, and scriptwriting, focusing on the Yanshanzhai and Qingtang archaeological sites—translating archaeological research into accessible documentary narratives on how media can represent ancient civilizations and cultural heritage.

A visual storytelling project exploring history and social memory through archival photographs. Starting with photographs of a shipyard workers’ band from more than sixty years ago, I conducted interviews and historical research to reconstruct the stories behind the images. Independently reported Sparks and Music (100k+ reads); also participated in a short-video project selected for the 30th National Photography Art Exhibition.

The Man in the Well

An independent short film directed by Hu Bo with artistic guidance from Béla Tarr. I participated in pre-production, production coordination, and on-set execution. The film explores social allegory, children’s lives, and a post-apocalyptic landscape, and was selected for the Signs of Life competition at the 71st Locarno International Film Festival.

Above the Dragon-Yang Gorge

A VR documentary produced with Russian director Anastasiia. As producer, I was responsible for project coordination and production management, and contributed to its immersive visual approach. Set around the Longyangxia Hydropower Station, it explores the coexistence of industrial infrastructure and the natural environment. Third Prize, 2nd China VR/AR Creative Competition, 2017.
